Dr. Jerry Bowskill has been appointed as the Chief Technology Officer at Amaya
Canadian gaming giant, Amaya Inc., has announced the name of their new Chief Technology Officer. The latest member to join the Amaya team, Jerry Bowskill, will start on his role with immediate effect.
Under this new appointment, Bowskill will drive and execute the strategic technology vision of the business. His aim will be to maximize the potential of its expanding product suite. This will have a profound impact on Amaya’s millions of current and future customers. As the new Chief Technology Officer of the company, Bowskill will lead a team of more than 300 technologists and developers from all over the world to ensure the smooth running of his department and essentially the company. He will also be reporting directly to Rafi Ashkenazi, the Chief Executive Officer of Amaya Inc.
Ashkenazi commented on this new appointment and said that Bowskill’s technical expertise and long history of experience within the industry makes him the perfect candidate for this position.
He said, “Jerry’s wealth of technical expertise and commercial experience will be a great asset for our gaming and interactive brands. I look forward to working closely with him again.”
Dr, Bowskill, who completed his B. Sc. degree (with Honors) in Microelectronics and Information Processing, also has a Ph. D. in image processing from the University of Brighton in the U. K.
He commented on his new role at Amaya and said that he is very excited about joining such a big name in the industry. He also added that he is looking forward to helping the company grow to new heights with him in charge of their technology department.

Dr. Bowskill has an impressive resume that precedes his time in Amaya. Immediately prior to joining the company, he was a Technology Consultant at Partis Solutions. Partis Solutions is a London based global leader in the provision of corporate services to the Interactive Gaming and Gambling industry. He had served there for a short six months; between January of 2017 and June of this year.
Before that, Dr. Bowskill was the Chief Technology Officer of TouchTunes Interactive Networks Inc., which is the largest in- venue interactive music and entertainment platform in the world. He joined the company in September of 2015 and left over a year later in November 2016.
From May 2012 to September 2015, Dr. Bowskill served in a variety of roles at Scientific Games Corp. Scientific Games is a leading developer of technology- based products and services for the gambling industry. They provide content for the worldwide gaming and lottery markets. He served the company in several roles, including Chief Architect and a Founding Stakeholder. He was also the Chief Technology Officer of SG Interactive at one time. SG Interactive is the internet product division of Scientific Games.
Even before his years at Scientific Games, Bowskill was associated with the gambling world. He was a part of Playtech Plc, which is one of the leading online gaming software development companies in the world. They acquired this prestigious title after their acquisition of a rival company, Gaming Technology Solutions in 2009. He served Playtech as their Technology and Solutions Director. Bowskill was also one of the co-founders at Playtech Plc. and worked there as the Division Chief Executive Officer during his time there. On a side note, it was during Bowskill’s time that Playtech created their leading open- platform based online gaming development ecosystem.
If we go all the way back, we see that Bowskill began his professional career as a research scientist. He held several roles within British Telecom’s Advanced Applications & Technology Research group.
As a researcher, he authored more than 40 academic publications. He also worked as a research associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Media Lab. During his time there, he was investigating wearable and contextual computing solutions.
Amaya Inc. certainly has high expectations from Dr. Bowskill. Financial reports may reflect his input into Amaya’s operations in the very near future.
