The London based International Conference & Exhibition (ICE), has been shortlisted as one of the best trade shows in the world by The Association of Exhibition Organisers’s Excellence Awards.

The most recent of the shows, which was held earlier this year in February, attracted a record attendance of 30,213 visitors.

While a lot of the visitors were local, many had travelled from all across the country to be part of the show. It was also reported that people had travelled from a total of 151 countries to be at ICE this year alone.

Just like the other nominated Business to Business (B2B) trade shows, ICE will be judged at Friday’s awards evening. The ceremony will be held at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane. It has been announced that the awards show will be hosted by the Cold Feet actor, James Nesbitt OBE. Other people expected to be at the ceremony are the organisers of ICE event.

The Managing Director of Clarion Gaming, Kate Chambers, highlighted that the show has immense support from people. She also said that she believes that the status ICE enjoys within the events industry reflects positively on their backers. The show has support from more than 500 of their exhibitors, who hail from the international community of gaming professionals. This number was not so large just a few years ago, but has seen a significant growth in each of the last six years.

Chambers explained that ICE is one the best events in the U. K. She also highlighted that it is not just the high attendance numbers that should catch people’s attention when it comes to ICE or even other trade shows. While most people are not aware of the inner workings of the local or global gaming industry, those who are familiar with this special sect are very much aware of ICE’s unique delivery and high quality performance.

She said, “Whilst gaming is not on everybody’s radar as an industry, ICE is one of the best known B2B exhibitions within the UK events business. I believe this to be a result not just of the numbers attending ICE, but also the imagination, energy and creativity which gaming organisations bring to their presence.”

She finished by saying that she was very pleased that the show had made it to the list of final nominees for the prestigious award. She also compared the Association of Exhibition Organizers’ Excellence Awards to the Academy Awards and called it the Oscars for the events industry.

She said, “I am delighted that ICE has been selected as a finalist in what is widely regarded as being the ‘Oscars’ for the events industry.”

ICE is a part of the Meetings Incentives Conferences & Events (MICE). The sector is reportedly worth GBP £42.3 billion to the UK economy. Over one- quarter of that or GBP £11 billion of this income is generated through exhibitions and trade fairs, such as ICE.

The famous event takes place on the second week of February every year at ExCeL London, UK. ICE 2018 has been scheduled to begin on the 6th of February 2018 and finish two days later, on the 8th of February 2018. ExCeL London.
